Diebolt: French Ale

I was a tad confused by this one. French ale? Isn’t that just sparkling wine? It turns out that it’s pretty damn good.

Someone told me it was made with a malt mix from France. Not sure if that’s true, but if so, damn. That is one tasty malt mix you’ve got there, France. The French Ale is really like a very light Amber. You’d be forgiven if you thought it was a lager. It’s got a great odor, taste, light brown color, everything about it is fantastic. It’s got the smooth drinkability of a lager, but enough malty backbone to actually have a little flavor kick to it. Not enough to overwhelm, but enough to let you know it’s there. I absolutely loved it. Loved it enough to take a picture of it because there are no pictures online.

And this rating is a first.

4 out of 4 stars. Would recommend to a friend. Would get drunk again. Would order in a bar. Would buy the 6 pack.
