Samuel Adams: Rebel Grapefruit IPA

I’m kind of weirded out by Sam Adam’s line of edgy “Rebel” beers. The original design not good enough?

Doesn’t matter, because this beer is good enough. I’m a big fan of fruit IPAs. The combination of citrus and hops is just the most fantastic thing to come out of the craft beer scene. And it generally works pretty well. The Rebel Grapefruit IPA has a nice twist on it though. I’ve found most grapefruit IPAs are a little on the sweet side. Actual grapefruits are kind of bitter and this beer shows it. Mixed with the natural bitterness of the hops, this is one tasty, and refreshing brew. I definitely drank too many.

3 out of 4 stars. Would buy the 6 pack.
