Dogfish Head: 60 Minute IPA

60 Minute is one of those classic IPAs that gets thrown around when you’re talking about who made the IPA popular again. Dogfish Head isn’t a bad brewery by any means, but it’s hard for me to see what the fuss is about.

Dark golden in color, 60 Minute retains a small head after pouring. Bitter hop notes come at your nose early on. They will hit your taste buds a few seconds later. And it’s just…lackluster. The beer is crisp, that’s for sure. But the bitterness really is for IPA fans only. I’d have to be in the right mood to pick this guy and that mood is rare.

2 out of 4 stars. Would buy for an IPA friend.
